My Heart Awakens

MY HEART AWAKENS

The golden leaves fell gently down-
And made a blanket on the ground.
Children rustled gaily through them,
Their beauty made my heart awaken.

I bundled up and took a walk,
Remembering back to our last talk.
We ambled through the leaves and sighed,
Your bouquet of leaves were at my side.

We had to say goodbye at last.
It seems a 100 years have past.
Each fall I think of how I wept;
And peek at the leaf bouquet I kept.
