The days fall into silent patterns,

Each one a carbon copy of some other.

Today two friends opened wide my door,

And my world burst forth with so much wonder.

Getting to know someone elses opinion,

Or just having them get to know mine;

Is like someone lighting a single candle,

Where yesterday the sun didn't shine.

Finding out how much in common,

Each of us has deep inside.

Knowing our fears and inhibitions,

And all the sad things we have to hide.

The days will fall back into silent patterns.

Each one a carbon of another.

But today I've got two beautiful friends,

That the endless patterns dare not smother.
